Interested in joining the team?

We are always looking for self-motivated, creative and talented organic chemists. CURRENTLY, there are no fully funded any positions available. Candidates with fellowship support are welcome to apply us. Applications should be sent by email to Dr. Tuyun.

- Undergraduate Opportunities

The group takes up to two undergraduate students in each academic year from our department. Projects are typically based upon our studies within our laboratory, covering all areas of organic synthesis including the synthetic medicinal chemistry and bioorganic chemistry. These students will have the opportunity to gain valuable research experience by joining one of our research programs. Students are welcome to discuss potential research projects at any time. For more detailed information, interested students should contact Dr. Tuyun via e-mail or in person.

We are also very happy to take on undergraduate students wishing to gain a bit of research experience. We are happy to take students from a period of 1 week (flexible on times) to up to 3 months during the summer. Although this would be unpaid, we are more than happy to help them with applications for any bursaries which may be available.

- Postgraduate Opportunities

We can host Chemistry or other sciences' students that would like to join one of the Masters Degree Programs of our department and carry out their Masters Thesis Research within one of our research projects. Additionally, we also have Ph.D. fellowships for highly-motivated students with interests in chemical synthesis. All graduate applications should be submitted to Institute of Science (IS) of Istanbul University. Furthermore, we can assist students interested in carrying out their Ph.D. in our group to apply for a Ph.D. fellowship with TUBITAK and/or other funding agencies. Prospective M.Sc. and Ph.D. students are encouraged to email Dr. Tuyun directly.

- Post-Doc Opportunities

We are very happy to take on postdoctoral fellows wishing to join us for specific postdoctoral vacancies in the group. General postdoctoral applicants should examine funding opportunities to support their stay in Istanbul, before making contact with Dr. Tuyun for assistance with any fellowship applications. The group can assist highly-motivated, creative, and ambitious scientists (from either European or non-European citizenship) with interests in chemical synthesis to apply for individual fellowships and join our research projects. Particular attention should be paid to closing dates (which are usually well in advance of any possible start date) and eligibility requirements. We have a good track record in achieving funding for postdocs with their own country's government, and welcome any prospective applicants for funding from the Royal Society or for European applicants, the Marie Curie Fellowship and similar funding agencies. Interested fellows should e-mail their curriculum vitae to Dr. Tuyun.

- Academic Visitors

Visiting academics are very welcome in our group. For further information please contact with Dr. Tuyun.
